wow, a blast from the past, this thread is 6 years old, wonderful to see old names on here again even if they are not 'here' in person. |

Di, Yep, 'Patience Of Angels' is arguably Eddi Reader's best known track. Margo Cummins is the female singer with the Cowboy Junkies, I think. Liz Fraser also contributed to vocals on the Massive Attack album, 'Mezzanine', most notably on well-known track, 'Teardrop'. |

kd lang...she has an excellent voice too. not a big fan of hers but i got a chance to see her in concert a few years ago and wow. she is awesome. eddi reader has a great voice i agree..she did a track about an angel or something..beautiful. and yes the late great kirsty macoll..still has 2 of the best titles for songs ever...Dont Come The Cowboy With Me Sunny Jim....and...Theres A Guy Works Down The Chipshop..just brilliant. 2 more singers i thought of while at work...the girl in The Cowboy Junkies (dont know her name)..and Elizabeth Fraser of the Cocteau Twins. she has the most lovely soft voice but sings in her own language that she made up i think lol. and yes Mama Cass had an amazing voice as did Karen Carpenter. William I don't know that song. I bought my eddie reader cd probably about 12 or so years ago and then moved abroad so never heard any of her songs from then on. Just love the cd I have! Joanne |

I think Dido has a beautiful voice & I love Alanis Morrisette's lyrics & style - but she hasn't done anything for a while. I loved Debbie Harry & Siouxsie in the 70s/80s. My other half says he's mad about Shania Twain - can't think why! Saz |

Now I'm going to be completely old-fashioned - ish. Someone on another thread mentioned Mama Cass, or Cass Elliott. Wow, she had one helluva voice! And I have to say it, Karen Carpenter (tho there were too many slushy songs) and Anne Murray, to name three. Glenys. |

Although inevitably not everyones cup of tea, Beth Gibbons (ex Portishead) has a great vocal range as well. |
