James Snooks, highwayman is reputed to be buried on Boxmoor Common close the old A41 in Hemel Hempstead. The grave is on the north side of the railway line underneath a chestnut tree. |

William Barnes vernacular poet buried in Dorchester and I think part of Thomas Hardy is.There is a funny story about his heart being removed from his body before buriel.I think it was the heart that was to be buried locally and the body in London.But I may have it the wrong way round.Any way the dog had it!!! TRUE, Then we have the other Hardy of 'Kiss me Hardy' fame Rose |

Air Chief Marshall Pike is buried in our local church yard. It took an act of parliament for him to be buried in the war graves section. |
