Vera, Have you considered that you may just not need that much sleep anymore? But if you 'feel' tired then the GP should be able to help you...if not your consultant? Viv |

Have you spoken to your GP they might be able to help, as it could be the medication that is effecting your sleep, Over active thyriod is the over excretion of hormones ( there abouts) so that could be the cause, Hope this helps Jan |

Vera , are you on medication? That should help you sleep. Mine is bordering on underactive....just waiting for it to tip over so they put me on Thyroxin. I can sleep for England and have put on weight. Viv |

Not sure if it's a phase we all go through at some point, I certainly did (menopause), but sleep ok again now, Sometimes helps if you set yourself a limit, say if i'm still awake at such and such a time, i'll get up, often dropped off before then, and if I did get up, then went and read a book. Supposed to be herbal pillows that aid sleep, never tried one so don't know if they work. Val |

Was diagnosed over a year ago with an over active thyroid have had lots of problems since which I wont bore you with but the one thing I have not been able to sort is that I cant sleep!! Takes hours to get off and then I keep waking up all night long. Has anyone else had this problem and if so have you a magic answer as to how I can put my head on the pillow and sleep til morn. Exhausted Vera |
