If anonymity and protection are not acceptable (and I think shee would be at risk from vigilantees) then maybe we should bring back banishment as a punishment. If somewhere could be found that would take her, and others in a similar position) then maybe she should be forced to leave under any name she wishes. Bob

I hope she suffers for the rest of her life, that may seem harsh, but i have no time for people that murder or cover for a murder. The poor families left to deal with the deaths of their loved ones never find peace. So why should she!!! sandra

I dont think she should be entitled to anything, she knows what part she had in it all and she will live with that for the rest of her life (just because she wasnt found guilty of murder, it does not lessen the severity of what she did), why should it be made easy for her?? Put her in the open and be let her be answerable for what she did.

Thats a good point, she should be made to pay for protection. I realise she didnt actually commit the terrible murders but once she found out she should have told the police. If that had been my boyfriend i would have shopped him, no matter how much i loved him.

Elaine, I would agree if she has the money. But if she can not afford it would that mean she is not entitled to a safe existence having served her time? This could lead to mob rule unless the culprit/victim can afford protection. I do not think anyone would wish to see lynch mobs in this country. Bob

If she is not allowed to change her identity, she may require round the clock police protection. I do not know which is cheaper. But I would deside on the cost. If anonymity is cheaper then so be it. Bob

She gave up her right to be anonymous when she blatently Lied for that boyfriend of hers. She knew he had killed them girls, so by covering him, she is as bad as him, she shows she did not care about those girls, or the poor parents who were so distraught. That to me is evil. Rant from me - living only 10 mins from Soham, I can openly tell you that period of waiting and willing was the worst time of mine and my husbands life so far. People from Soham and surrounding villages still live those days as though they were yesterday. We laid flowers at the church along with thousands of people and it was so unreal. Even today it is truely unbelievable, but it did happen and why the devil should she be able to hide away when Holly and Jessicas families live with the consequences every day. She should get what she deserves... I am not an evil, bitter person but I do have an opinion, so sorry if this offends any one.

I dont think she should be allowed to remain annonymous. The same goes for the killers of jamie bulger...i want to know if they live anywhere near me.

I think she is an evil person who deserves all the condemnation she may get. Why should she be protected. Same with Rape cases etc. Why should the accused be named while the accuser remains anonymous. The accused should be protected UNTIL proven guilty and then named and shamed. And if proven innocent then the accuser should be named. And while I am on the soap box. The kids who cause so much trouble in communities should be named. Once it has been proved that it was them who did it.

If as you say she has done her time why should she remain anonymous? Other ex-prisoners don't have this privilege do they? And I am sure there are others who are at risk from people deciding to punish them in other ways. For example convicted paedaphiles. And it is costsing us to pay for her protection.

She has done her time (whether you think it was harsh/lenient is irrelevent) so yes, she should remain anonymous. Otherwise, we might as well abolish the courts and justice system and just start hanging people for stealing bread etc.

She is in court today....she wants to remain annonymous for the rest of her life. What do you think?
