She should be named. She is every bit as guilty as Huntley for what happened to those poor girls. Hope she rots in hell! If I knew where she lived, I`d tell everyone. They can name and shame drug dealers/robbers etc, but won`t do it to murderers and people that helped them(with alibis etc) What is going on with the justice system. It`s the same with the Bulger Killers, they only served 8 years(i think) what message are we sending to criminals??

Also she wants to hide her true identity, but wants to write a book and cash in on it!!!! How ironic!!!

Well said Kerry.

I don't think she should get anonimity because she covered up for huntley, and lied in court. She may have done her time but what about the parents of those girls. Will she lie for her next boyfriend. I also agree that the boys who killed jamie bulger shouldn't have anonimity either. Why should the rest of the country fear for there children just because people who do wrong get to hide and offend again. i think the law is wrong in this country. i9 will get off my soap box now sue

Jo Report 24 Feb 2005 21:36

You stay on it Sue, its about time innocent people got their say, the dirt bags do wrong and we have to live with that, I dont call that justice. THE LAW should start to listen to the public.

I agree Sue, come and join me on my soap box. With the bulger killers, people have said they didn`t know right from wrong. At the age of 8-10 I knew right from wrong. I read in the paper, that someone who was involved in the day-to-day running of one of the boys lives, wrote to bulgers mother saying where he was. She staked out this address and true to form he was living there!! They all gave up their rights to ANYTHING when they commited these awful crimes, and like many have said the country will live in fear, not knowing where they are. It`s scary to think, I live on an estate where loads of children play(Military estate), scary to think someone like that could be living near by. Maxine and the Bulger killers deserve no sympathy. I think they should leave these people in a room with their victims parents!!! No-one else, just the parents!!! Ian Huntley would be better off killing himself, no one would care about a child murderer, but no he wouldn`t do that either, as he`s a coward and no doubt he`ll be let out soon, only having served half his sentence for 'Good Behaviour'

I believe that although what she did was a terrible thing, she lied to protect the man she truly loved. I don't know all the ins and outs of it all, but did she know what he had done? He could have told her anything. Personally, I don't think she should remain anonymous, unless she is prepared to foot the bill. However, I have been told by a friends family that she is not abroad. She was escorted out of a shop, after local uproar. The refused to serve her. How can she remain anonymous if wherever she is moved to, she goes in with a police escort?

Following my earlier messages it seems to me that Her life would be in danger if her identity is known. This leads to a number of points. Who has the right to punish criminals in this country? What should happen to those that take the law into their own hands What should happen to criminals after their release? Once a criminal has served their sentence they have the right to a fresh start. That is the way our laws work. I agree that sentences are too short but if Judges do not give the sentence as laid down by parliament we may as well go back to the stocks and lynchings. Is that what people rearly want? Unfortunatly we have to live with the situation as it is. sentences are too short and there are some who would take the law into their own hands. it is not the criminals fault if they have served their time and then their life is at risk from another potential criminal.
