Tony.... I have lived in Rome and London and now I'm stuck in a Market town that has village mentality!! My husband and I split up last year so all my nights out tend to be anywhere but Newbury for the fear of bumping into him.... not a physical fear I might add! But Yeah, the city is always awake with you no matter what time it is and even better it's awake when you can't sleep and I love that!! Pink xx |

Hi Tony, Lived in the city until 14yrs ago. I would never go back pace of life is so much more relaxed and friendly. Go into the city now and then shopping but cant wait to get home. Wendy ( on the yorkshire wolds) |

I like it where I am on the very edge of a small coastal town.There are fields within 2 minutes walk, which will soon be filled with lambs. I would hate to live in a city but am realistic enough to think that depths of the country living might not be right either. |

In the country but not too remote. I live in a small town so suits me well. Love to visit the city but pleased to get home again. |

Tony, When hubby and I were younger we lived in Hillbrow and both worked in the middle of Johannesburg, ten minutes walk form where we lived. The city never slept. I could not do it today. I love the quite winter months and the sound of the sea crashing on the cliffs. Two months of uncomfortable heat is a small price to pay for our little corner of paradise. Lindy;-))) |

countryside definitely. we are on the edge of the South Downs and can walk to Brighton across fields, it takes about 3 hrs. We can get to LOndon by train in an hour. no street lights and everyone knows,and helps, everyone else brenda |

born and brought up in Portsmouth(2nd most populated city in Europe outside London) and LOVE it, i would hate to live in a village---too quiet |

I live in the centre of London but also like the countryside I usually find I dont sleep very well when I leave London, I miss the noise to lull me to sleep!!! BC |

Country or rural any time! We lived in a village before,but it was a faster pace and we were nearer the town of Worthing,which has nearly got more pubs and clubs than oap's. Here,we are near a town,but the whole atmosphere and pace is SLOWWWW and soooo peaceful - luvely:o)))))) BUGS BUNNY - approx where do you live?? jude sarf wales |
