I have just got back from laying flowers at the school. There were police and reporters. The reporters were questioning the kids...not very respectful.

My eldest son was run over and seriously injured nearly six years ago. He survived and was in hospital for over seven weeks. I will never forget seeing him lying in the road all broken and I truly thought he was dead. The ambulance trip to hospital was the longest journey I have ever made. The relief when i was told he would make it was indescribable. - I can't begin to imagine how that little boy's poor family are feeling. They are in my prayers.

Emma, The parents grief will be compounded with the shock of sudden death for a long time and they will be unable to concentrate on anything but thoughts of their son. They will want to hear nice words spoken about him, so if you should see them please speak to them and tell them how well loved he was by everyone and allow them to speak about him too. I agree with Patricia - just a few words on a sympathy card expressing your sorrow at the loss of such a lovely boy - and perhaps the school will arrange a memorial service and/or a park bench later on at the cemetery where he is to be buried. They are in my thoughts at this dreadful time, Kathy

Its just been on my regional news here in Dorset, its very sad and my heart goes out to his family and friends. As for writing in a card you could put exactly how you feel, 'words can t express the sadness I feel with the loss of your child, you, your family and friends are in my thoughts at this very sad time'.
