Well done Peter...day five here already.!! You have kicked the habit, you should have your taste back and things should smell sweeter now. Don't give in to your urge of wanting a ciggie...if you lasted 5 days...you CAN carry on. Support is a great help and I will check in on your progress...and your wife...hope you are both feeling better too. Anne :))) |

hi peter - i am on day 8 ! have been smoking for 25 years, about 20 a day. i spent the first 2 days with a sugar free lolly in my mouth , lol. did look a bit silly at work, but it did help . i am on the patches too, but did err a bit a couple of days ago... am back on the straight and narrow again though. good luck, hang on in there, i know its bloody hard, but it really does get easier- honest ! and think of all the £££££- lol, sue. |

Well done to you and your wife Peter. You will find so many advantages being a non smoker. (sounds good eh) Try and give yourselves a treat each day. There is another thread on the boards which has lots of helpful tips on it about giving up smoking. Good luck Jill |

Have chewed about 30 matches to keep things at bay. Can't have sweets Diabetic and gum is out (Have a plate) so matchs it will be. Bath and bed soon updates tomorrow. |

Good luck Peter, it is so tough. I will pass on the cocktail stick idea to my brother and his wife. They have been complaining that they need something to chew all the time and gum isn't doing the trick! Stick to it! Abigail |
