Escape from New York and Escape from L.A. Its a thing I've got about Kurt Russell in leather! They also appeal to my sense of humour.

I'm with you Sheila - Shawshank Redemption without a shadow of a doubt. We saw it in the cinema 11 years ago, and had no idea what to expect, since there had been no real publicity or hype. When it finished we sat mesmorized in our seats and then went and paid to see it all over again. We have it on dvd now, yet I still watch it every time it's on tv. Must be up to about 20 viewings now.

I got out a DVD of this Japanese animation film recently (been overdubbed in English) and found it quite moving, just wish I could remember what the hell it was called. EDIT: it was called 'Spirited Away', came back to me!

Hi Andy my feelgood films are Dirty Dancing, The Goonies lol, Fried Green Tomatoes, and Steel Magnolias. I was reading an article about 'Goodbye Mr Chips' at the end of the film when the old boy is dying, somebody says something like ' its such a shame he never had children of his own' then Mr Chips pipes up saying, 'yes l did, l had 300 children and they were all boys'!!! Would'nt be PC today would it lol Anne x
