I'm not saying the North CAN'T celebrate St Pat's!! Of course they can! Just why the rule (bank holiday) isn't the same for St David's, St Andrew's and St George's?

Thanks guys. As for your sarcasm, Kevin. You've completely misread my message. My question was why the Welsh, Scottish and English patron saint days have NOT been made bank holidays in their own country.

So N.Ireland celebrate St.Patricks day even though they are part of Britain. If they want to celebrate this day and be a whole country with Ireland why don`t we just let them go. They are more trouble than they are worth and let the IRA etc deal with everything themselves!! xxxx

I also don`t understand how USA can fund one terrorist group whilst fighting Iraq etc for terrorism! Also someone who DOES NOT support the IRA. Remember my Dad telling me that a couple of years ago, the IRA came looking for some Drug dealer in the town, anyway they got their infomation wrong, went in the house next door and knee-capped a young man infront of his family!!! It is complete madness!!xxxx

Most of the funding of the IRA has come from America, but since 9/11 the Americans have finally woken up to Terrorism. Gerry Adams has not been allowed to canvas for funds this year. Google NORAID to find out more.

As you may all be aware the McCartney family have gone over to the States to try and bring awareness about the IRA and that they are still in fact killing people. Is it true that a lot of funding for the IRA comes from the States? I don't see how they can fund terrorism and yet fight a war against it in a different country? Isn't that hypocritical? I have Irish heritage. My grandfather was Irish (Northern Ireland). The whole situation with the IRA and Sinn Fein irritates the hell out of me. It is my belief that SOME members of Sinn Fein must be connected to the IRA, however this doesn't mean that the whole part of corrupt. Gerry Adams does my head in. I really don't like him! Another thing that I don't understand is why N Ireland has a bank holiday day for St Pat's, and the Welsh Scots and English patron saints days do not? Can someone explain the logic in that?
