im like you marjorie....i have laminated floors in every room apart from the stairs and upstair hallway...ive got a dyson that my mum give me and i hoover every day and sweep the kitchen and front room about 4 times a day...after what ive seen when i sweep up i dont think ill ever have a carpet again..well i might when the dogs die and are buried in the garden...gotta admit the dyson is good expensive though...although not half as much as a kirby....about 13 years ago they were bought by the kirby company for £150 and sold to the public for over a 1000 quid...good machines though... michelle

My daughter has a Dog, and a Cat,two daughters a hubby, and real wood block floors, and the amount of fluff from the aforesaid aminals is amazing..............she sweeps it into a pile and then 'Dysons'' it up.........

Ive got a Dyson AND wood floors. I can tell you that the amount of muck I SWEEP up every day is just as embarrassing as the amount of muck in the Dyson. Its put me off ever having carpets again since my daughter told me that all the 'dust' under the bed which I marvel at every day, is in fact..... DEAD SKIN!!!! EEEUUUURCCCHHH!!! Marjorie

I know what you mean about the Dyson Donna. When I bought mine I was disgusted by the amount of muck that it picked up. I thought that it was just because I'd used it for the first time, but it seems to pick up the same amount every time I use it! Maggy

Corrina, you'll have to get him that new Dyson then, the one with the ball underneath which apparantly is really easy to use and turn. Kxx

next time buy a kirby then you will be shocked noy just by the price they really do clean better than any hoover i know had mine 15 years and still as good.

We got our dyson as a wedding pressie, its the pink and purple CLIC one. at one oclock on the sunday morning new hubbie decides its the perfect time to start hoovering about in the lounge! for a whole week i wasnt allowed to use the thing. but finally fate interviened - he'd used it that much he managed to put his shoulder/back out Hee hee. only problem is he wont touch the darn thing now! lol donna.we moved house and laid a new carpet...hubby treated me to a dyson and shock horror...a carpet of four hours old and so much muck nearly died.you are not alone dear,lol.x

My dyson wasnt £350, far less and in a sale....but to see the muck, i would have paid more! Ive had a lesson now in how to empty it! Idiot proof it aint! lol

y is £350 for a vacumn cleaner so called bonkers but spending god nos how many k on a footballer is ok. all they do is kick a bal around abit

Yes Sue, Its the new 'Ball' all the others in the showroom seemed too bulky, or heavy, early days with it yet, but it 'Pulls' like the clappers.........and with the turbo brush drive on, it makes going forward ever so easy, AND best of all it doesnt scream like a banshee........Bob-- cant believe how quiet it is.

bob- is it the new 'ball' dyson that you have bought ? i still have the dc01- and its still going strong . but quite fancy the new one i saw on tv .

donna you know ive got a dyson lol we had our DC01 for 9 years and the poor old thing looked a bit sad. so we bought a DC04 and its fantastic jamie and tanya have got my DC01 now and its still going strong!! susie

Donna, we bought a new Dyson Yesterday. Like you we couldnt believe how badly the old one was performing, Old one was a DC04, new one is a DC15 ball...........not only does it get the dogs fur off the carpet, we nearly had to rescue the dog...............any one want some blue merle fur, to knit with? I met someone who bought a second hand Dyson, the previous owner couldnt open it to empty it, so sold it !!!!!
