Penny My daughter developed a phobia about flying, after having had no problems in her teens. She booked a flight to come on holiday with her husband and family to us here in Singapore. Then panic set in. She attended a day course at Manchester Airport which included a short flight. It did help her. Although still apprehensive about flying, she has since made the trip 5 times. (A 14 hour flight). Good luck and have a great holiday. Joan

Does ' Fly By wire' mean that the pilot telegrams his instructions to the bloke at the back?

Penny, Just don't order a meal, that's causes 'turbulance' for everyone else and you end up with more food in your lap than in your mouth! Kim

Penny, Trust me, flying IS actually safer than Motorway driving......you stand more risk of an accident, going to the supermarket, than flying. With all the aids and gimmicks they have these days, its 'a piece of cake' Bob Ps, Sorry......

Okay I am sorry and do feel chastised... Flying is fab though, sitting by the window and looking down on the clouds there is no feeling like it in this world and you are statistically safer up there than down here. For take off an landing suck boiled sweets. As for the rest sit back and enjoy... Really really really sorry for earlier comment. Julie xxx

As easy as riding a bike.....have you seen me ride a bike. I know its hard for some to understand a flying phobia when your ok at flying yourself but I really do have a phobia, and i think it will need proffessional help or my kids and myself will never see much of the world. I don t know why I m afraid of flying but I ve been like it since being a child.

Seriously Penny I have flown many times I think it is natural to feel a bit nervous especially on take off and landing sure you will be fine safer than riding a bike! Love Davex
