Is it a bird? is it a plane?

Is it a bird? is it a plane? Report 6 May 2005 23:48

I have wanted to be an archaeologist since I was nine. Its all I've ever wanted to be. Over the last 5-6 years I've probably dated about 7/8 guys and all of the vaguely serious ones end up tripping over my love for the subject. I've been with guys who suggested I didn't go to my once a week digs on Sunday afternoons when I was 16/17 saying I should spend more time with them. The last guy I was with, after 3 and a half years, hadn't got a clue what I did really. He'd never even watched an archaeology prog. on TV let alone flicked through one of my magazines or books. He'd never asked me about it and I felt awkward talking about it to him. It was like I had this mental block or something. It wasn't the only reason we broke up, but its a bit bad when after 3 and a half years they don't know anything about something so big in your life!

Hi Joy... Sarah.....it's not optional to have a man but it is nice. Stop looking and enjoy yourself. I did the same years ago and it was only when I realised I didn't need one.......that one turned up!!!! But it can get lonely...........vent away girl.

I'm frustrated at my inability to find a man. I know I'm young, but I've just ended a 3 and a half yr relationship. Why can I not find a man who will let me go off and do archaeology or have a vague interest in what I spend most of my time doing?
