Sue Report 16 May 2005 20:32

I stopped when my Mum died a week after my 48th birthday in January 1997. I had been regular up until then, but nothing at all since. I had a few hot flushes, but nothing major and no mood swings, but then I never had them before! I've never needed to take anything but friends of mine swear by Menopace. My Mum (born in August) was 52 when she stopped and didn't have any problems either, but my mother-in-law (born in December) suffered for 12 years with hot flushes and night sweats from the age of 45. Hope my 2 daughters take after my side of the family :o) Sue xx

Hi Lita I have taken red clover-it didn`t do anything for me. I have taken Black cohosh which worked for a while and just recently been taking estro balance with phytoestrogens which hasn`t done anything. I was born at the end of november I am 47 and have been menopausal for about 2 years. I have today thrown in the towel and gone for HRT as I am turning into a mad woman-horrendous mood swings and day/night hot flushes and insomnia I hope this will sort me out and make me feel like me again instead of the nutter who is here now -LOL Diane

When I was in my 20's & 30's always thought the menopause came at 40 ! how wrong I was. Yikes, hope I don't take after my mother, she stopped at about 52 for 10 whole years, then started up again lasting for another 2 years. Val

3 yrs ago I had the blood test to confirm thing's, Dr said to me at the time did I want to think about HRT. I said no thank's, she said you might be back in 3 mths time to ask for it. Apart from wee flushes, sometimes a glowing nose, and 'Big knickers' 2-3 times a year, I am fine. I also swear by evening primrose, taken it for years. Check it out. Marion

i had hysterectomy /partial, 4 years ago, im 40 now, i get hot flushes, but doctor says i shouldnt, i have joint problems which they say isnt osteo porosis have just proved im shrinking, have by 3/4 inch in 7 months, i have to see a specialist next month to see why, im sure hell say everything is normal they always do, blood tests have to be done at the right time to catch menopause as the levels drop and rise, you can buy kits now like pregnancy kits to test menopause yourself
