Am just back from hospital having been there for 5 hours with Basil - he is now down for surgery later today - it is an appendix but they are muttering about colon. Hasn't been well since Wednesday and I and husband looking after him. Some of you may recall giving me support 3 months ago when I lost my dearest friend Linda - Basil is her husband. Your thoughts and prayers for him please. Thank you UPDATE - undergoing investigative surgery this afternoon - have added to thread. 2nd UPDATE - just had phone call from hosp. from his brother - Basil will be OK - had an infection in lower bowel/colon, was in theatre 3 hrs, recovery 4 hours. Main thing is Basil will be OK - I was beginning to panic after all this time even husband getting jittery as at 8.00 p.m. dau. could not get info from hosp except he was still in recovery so with her uncle she went there - expect I will get more detail from her tomorrow - she must be shattered - has had about 3 hrs sleep in past 36 hours.
