Apology accepted Harry. Deanna

Deanna, Not so. Was a genuine comment, well meant. If it offended, I apologise. James has a point about some of them being cocky, but some people of that age generally are. each force might have a helicopter but one is only of limited use and take time to be alerted and get off the ground. Some people say that police shouldn,t do high speed chases and I can live with that, although in my opinion they are wrong. Lastly, it is 20 years since I finished. The liverpool tearaways used to drive over and taunt us, inviting a chase, cos they knew we couldn,t catch them... complex problem though in its entirety. happy days

Because he is a copper..........must have known the Judge. BUT, I Have heard of a motorcyclist, many years ago, got stopped for riding, 'No Hands' got away with it because he was a very experienced rider and was testing the setup of the bike. Bob

And another thing ................. If he admitted what he was doing and what he was doing was illegal - how can he be found not guilty? Gwynne

I find it hard to accept it's always OK for the police to travel at excess speeds in marked police cars with sirens wailing and lights flashing, even in case of an emergency. People have been killed by police cars breaking the law. But 159mph in an unmarked car - just for practice? Disgraceful. He should be ashamed of himself and so should the judge. He could easily have lost control at that speed and killed himself and taken others with him. Gwynne

Deanna, God bless you for admitting it. Long divorced from the Police, but take my word for it, they are no better, and no worse, than the people living in your street (metaphorically) Very best wishes and happy days

Thanks Harry, for the legal lesson. You knew what I meant.......................it was one of those 'thingies'. Deanna

Deanna, Sorry, but having a naughty day. Prosecuted at 32 mph? Assume it,s still the same, but you were always allowed 10% for speedo error. Certainly when I was a police officer the number of people, on holiday say, who told me that had been done for 31 were many. (In my force we never prosecuted anyone under 40, but now its a county -fied they have got rid of that. happy days

Well Thats okay then.....................he is a police man. Boy down the road doing 32 in a 30 zone.................nice fine for him! Sorry but it is not fair or right. Deanna
