Lynne, I'm absolutely gobsmacked! At the risk of sounding patronising, you are amazing. Give Simon a hug for me won't you, and wish him a Happy Birthday. Take care, Glenys x |

Lynn, David is 18yrs old he is at college doing mechanics he has Ritalin at college and works 13hr at Tesco's who are good about his problems, John is 12yrs old and Damien is 6yrs old |

Val, l was just about to ask how on earth do you cope? but l know you do because they're your children and you love them and the heartbreak, hardwork and joy is all woven into your life, not that you don't sometimes want to go to the top of a mountain and scream for a day lol Anne xx |

Hi Lynne, I know what you mean, l am a full time carer for my 27 year old daughter, she is total care and goes to two different centres throughout the week, my daughter is unable to speak and is in a wheelchair, all thanks to meningitis when she was a year old and a cocky doctor who thought she had a virus!!! She is hard work, my back has gone caput but l would'nt change a thing about my life, l'm just so glad that she lived as the doctors at the time did'nt think she would live past her 5th birthday as she was so badly brain damaged and she developed hydrocephalous (spelling) as well, but she has the most infectious laugh and a weird little sense of humour, she is beautiful!! Hope Simon has a lovely birthday. Bless you Lynne Anne xx |

Lynne you sound like a wonderful mother!!! It takes some kind of inner strength to do what you do and I like to think that in the same circumstances I would have done the same but it must be very hard for you at times. When my mother was very ill, I had to go after work everyday and feed her, wash her and put her to bed - it was the hardest thing I have had to do - I had never seen my mother without clothes up to then, and I felt her dignity had eroded, having to have someone, albeit her daughter do this for her.
