Oh Dee , how awful. I think if you look in yellow pages there may be a 24 hr walk in dental clinic in most areas. Chrissie x

Oh Dee Poor you know exactly how that feels I have had my fair share of toothaches and abcesses. Can't think of anything else to help the pain, hope the antibiotics soon and get the tooth sorted. Hope you do get some sleep with it, I had my one bottom wisdom tooth out last week, I was a bit upset at loosing it but obviously I feel much better without the pain it was causing me. Take care Pat x

Thanks girls - Yes Lynda, Maz kindly offered to give me a lift. Are the pliers silver an 'all???? Linda...there is an emergency number on my dentists answer machine...if the pain doesn't diminish a bit by tomorrow I think I will have to ring it! Hoping the antibiotics will kick in and help a bit. And I suppose then I shall have root canal work to look forward to!!!! It doesn't half hurt! Dee :-((((

Dan - antibiotics or not - I still had a couple of glasses of red! Thanks everyone...nice to get a bit of sympathy...husbands snoring away in bed! And it looks like this is going to be my second sleepless night. Think I might double up on the antibiotics..they are only 250 mg. And how come my painkillers say take 2 every four hours. Do not exceed 6 in every 24 hours!!!! I feel like taking the whole lot at once! Dee :-((((

Hi JoJo thanks love, a bit of sympathy goes a long way! See you in London on the 25th! No laughing if I've got a gap in me teeth! Good Idea David...think I'll go and get a couple of dustbin lids to smack together..Or just scream loudly! Thanks Joy x Well folks I'm off to TRY and get a bit of rest. Hugs to you all xxxxxx Dee x

For a short period you can take Ibuprofen and paracetamol together at the same time...honestly! Best thing I found for relieving abcess pain was Paracodol Hugs and sympathy Magsxx

Hi Dee, So sorry you are in pain, been there & it's no fun. Can I add a note of caution on the cures everyone is suggesting. The reason not to take alcohol with antibiotics is that the alcohol stops the antibiotics working, so do one or the other. If you want a drink leave the anti's till tomorrow or you are wasting them. Please be carefull not to overdose on the pain killers. When I had a nasty abcess I kept taking painkillers every 3.1/2 hrs & couldn't understand why my head was buzzing & I couldn't stand up. I'm sending you some healing thoughts & I'm sure everyone else is so hopefully you will get some sleep Vivienne

unfortunately a dentist usually wont touch a tooth with an abscess you have to get rid of the abscess first so you tuck with the pain killers Paul
