Got a phone call from my dad yesterday evening. He told me he wasnt feeling very well, couldnt breath properly and his chest was tight. OK dad put the phone down and just sit quitely sounds like you need to go to hospital. Told him I was going to dial 999 and he was just to wait for them to arrive. I phoned for the ambulance and unbelivably was put on hold. Anyway, got through and told them I thought he might be having a heart attack, so off they went, and off I went. As of this morning we still arnt sure whether or not dad has had one, they are waiting for some blood tests to come back. Dad has a bad heart and is supposed to have a triple heart bypass and a pace maker. Unfortunatly he had cryptogentic avliosis fibrosis, which means that his lungs are too bad for him to have an operation, he wouldnt survive the anesthetic. While we were in A&E his pulse was all over the place down to 28 and then up to 147, hovering around the 35 mark. He was given some sort of injection to stabalise it, which worked for a while but his pulse woulndt settle. He is now in the coronary care unit where they can keep a close eye on him. When I phoned this morning they said he had a good night and they where waiting for the docs to arrive, so hopefully by lunch time we should know just what is wrong, and that it isnt anything too bad.
