Hi CB Happened to me yesterday and not for the first time happens quite often really lol. I left the computer for the day got on with other stuff including a clean up of some of the garden which no one ever wants to do. Didn't bother with the computer until last night. Its horrible when your mail box is empty except of course for the usual rubbish, funny how they never forget you innit? Pat x

Hi CB, I would send you an email, but I am at work and only have your email address on my home PC (silly me). I know how you feel about subsidence - we had the same problem a few years ago. I'm not convinced it was put right though! Keep smiling, Carole

Hi CB Sorry you're having a bad time at the moment. If you're anything like me, you want to get the outstanding work done NOW and not wait any longer; it must be very frustrating for you. I think people must be out enjoying the sunshine because I've only had one email this morning (from hubby) and two texts, so don't worry, you're not the only one! Hope things start to improve for you very soon. Have a good weekend, Love Mandy :)

~~~ Hi Bec! No, not ignoring everyone really. Just replying to several emails I've had as a result of this thread and carrying on a lengthy chat with Daisy. Someone should request a song for us - Chas & Dave's 'Rabbit, Rabbit, Rabbit' ! LoL I might start a new thread and call it 'Gasbags United'. Do you think it would work? BC, I've tried talking to myself but I never get any sense back, so I've given up. I do have a Russian language tape I'm trying to learn from, and sometimes I talk back to that, but the conversations are a bit repetitive. Andy, If you're going to hide on the Tips Board, attempting to attract newbies, you can't expect us oldies over here to notice, so just jack-it in and put in an appearance here once in a while. BTW have you listened to those tapes? CB >|<
Hi Pat, Nice to see you. You've changed your name again. Is haddock off today? LoL I couldn't sleep last night, so I sat and added a few contributions to the 'Phantom Nudger' songs thread. Go and have a sing-song later. Don't know if you get Virgin Radio, but I'm listening to lovely Russ Williams' show, and I've just heard Suggsy's trailer for his Saturday night party show. He's doing a Crazy Frog take-off - as if he's not funny enough already! LoL See you later, CB >|< X
Hi HR, Sadly 'housework' and 'gardening' used to be my constant companions, but they turned against me and I found I couldn't keep up with them, so I try to ignore them as much as possible these days. It's all part of my new-found ambition to become a Bag Lady. I'm accumulating newspapers (never have time to read them all) and other rubbish, and the cupboard under the sink is full of plastic carrier bags, so I'm well prepared. My husband says I'm half-way to achieving my ambition already. I hope he means I'm a Lady. Hi Carole, Sorry to learn you've had subsidence too. Problem here is mainly due to two large trees on the grass verge in front of our house and next-doors. The trees belong to the Council, but it's taken 18 months of badgering by our insurers to get them to lop the trees, and none of us are sure that will stop them sucking all the moisture out of the clay soil under our houses. We could well find that we get this problem sorted out and it comes back again in a few more years, if we have very dry summers. It's a real pain, and I bet it recurs in 4 years' time, just as we'll be wanting to put our house on the market and move away. Look forward to hearing from you. CB >|<
Hi Joy, Is tennis the new football? Who are you backing for the titles? Hi Mandy, Yes, you've hit the nail on the head. I DO want this work done IMMEDIATELY. Unfortunately, nobody else has my vested interest. We've been here for 7 years and had builders in 4 times already, doing modernisation and extension work. Just as we were on the point of finishing off the interior decor and carpeting, the cracks appeared in the hall wall and floor - basically, the hall extension and porch we added are coming away from the main walls of the house, despite foundations to Building Regs specification. It's all due to the Council's trees sucking the moisture out of the underlying clay. The garage wall is cracked much worse and, as I've said, cannot now be dealt with until the neighbour's shrubs are dead. I'm going to write to the insurers today and ask if we can have the work done in two stages. At least, if we can get the hall wall done, we can do our internal decorating. The outside can wait as far as we're concerned, but I bet the insurers will insist it's all done at once. Thanks for your good wishes. Hope you and yours enjoy a nice, sunny weekend too. CB >|< X
Hi CB I answered you on that phantom thingy lol. I did see all your work and enjoyed the contributions. The phantom nudger comes out at night & nudges that and Sue's phantom nudger thread nearly every night its very funny but annoying because I can't catch whoever it is. Thanks for answering me here, I am going off out, I am so bored I would fall alseep if I remain here, anyway hopefully I'll see you later. Hi Daisy, Maybe this is one time you should keep quiet, if your not allowed mention whatever you are doing I don't want to know anyway so if you can keep it to yourself, then keep it. (its gonna play on my mind now I'll be wondering the rest of the day what it is grrr). ;-))) Pat x
