I'm sorry to hear your bad news, Bev, but not surprised. A similar thing happened to a good friend of ours in January. He was extremely fit and active and had seemed fine, went on holiday, came back and felt a bit off-colour, saw the GP and got a quick referral to see a consultant - in three weeks he was in hospital, having an op to remove a large cancerous growth that he'd never been aware of previously. He died shortly after the op, aged 48. It's tragic when these things happen - and a terrible shock. CB >|<

Good grief, how shocking for you and of course his family. I guess the only saving grace is that he didn't suffer a prolonged illness - I think I'd rather go quickly too.

Went to my friends wedding a week last Saturday and had been chatting to her brother! He had a liver transplant about 18mths ago! He had to go for a scan on the Monday as he had a bit of backache and they wanted to check his liver was okay! Ive just had a phone call of my friend to let me know that not only did the scan show that he had cancer but that he died on Sunday.... can't believe it!! Bev x
