I was lucky, daughter(11) was at school but being secondary they was allowed the news on in a classroom.... upon hearing local stations that i normally visit were closeed, she paniced. And called me as soon as she could to reassure herself all was well. Her dad also sometime does deliveries up town so she checked him too. Mobiles aren't allowed to be used in school but allowances was made yesterday to reassure pupils all was well. So if one school can do it why the H**L can't the others? |

I can't believe that a teacher would be so insensitive as to have the radio on at such an awful time. What were they thinking this would achieve? I would complain strongly about this. What that poor child must have gone through, wondering about his Dad! My grandson, nearly 10 didn't know anything about the trouble until his mum told him, reassuring him that his Dad, who worked there was safe. |

hi Em C- just checked on your thread- glad your parents are 'ok'- must have been so terrible for you ! tell your daughters parents to go in that school tomorrow and sort it ! alan will be doing ! it is totally unbelievable. if parents want children who are so young to know about these things, we should be the ones to tell them ! certainly not by sitting them next to a radio ! sue. |

... if your hubby worked on the trains. and your 9 year old son had been at school today, while the teacher had the radio on - in the classroom- telling the children what was happening in london ! apparently alex heard trains/ bomb/ deaths... and got upset. he told me tonight he 'could not help it, but i started crying....' teacher asked what was wrong, and alex told him that his dad worked on trains. and he didnt know where he would be today ! teacher said... its ok, you can sort it out tonight after school !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! did i get a phone call ! NO when my husband found out tonight- he went balistic ! in the morning he is going in to the school to speak to the headmistress...... i still cannot believe this was allowed to happen ! sue. |
