A friend just mailed me this website containing messages of support for Londoners. www.werenotafraid(.)com............. Health warning Some of the messages have 'language' that may offend. It makes interesting reading. Gwynne |

There is one called the people's war too I believe. Only open for wartime reminiscences until the end of the year. |

Interesting site, and reminiscent of the 'sorry America' site that went up after the last election here. I wonder if that's where they got the idea from? It's good to know what the 'person in the street' thinks. |

Most of those targeted last Thursday were people travelling into London to work, and not residents of Central London, where the bombs went off, so the terrorists weren't just trying to kill and maim 'Londoners'. It should also be borne in mind that a large proportion of the actual population of London is not British-born or of Anglo-Saxon ethnicity, so the bombers were targeting a wide array of completely innocent people - including people from their own culture and background. This wasn't just an attack on London, it was an attack on our country, its people of all kinds, and our entire way of life. Yes, 'Londoners' (of which I am proud to say I'm one by birth) will stand firm in the face of this adversity, as we or our forefathers did before us during the Blitz (in which my parents' home and all their possessions were destroyed) and during the sporadic IRA bombings and threats from other dissident groups in our city in more recent times. However, it must be understood that it's not just locations and people in general that these fanatics are attacking - it is Western culture as a whole. Before my personal critics start up - this is not merely my opinion but that of experts with much relevant experience over many years, who have been quoted in the media. CB >|< |
