I think I'm getting addicted. Went to a Car Boot sale last weekend and got a bargain, 24 Series 1 on DVD for £8! My first haggle! So I thought I would try and get the others, I know I won't get them that cheap though. I bought Series 2 on Ebay for £26 and almost boughyt Series 3 on a whim but was outbid but a few seconds (was too close by that time, time ran out) and am now watching 'Hitch' DVD for £4.02 - hope to make a successful bid of £5 though. Also have seen something that my sister's kind of boyfriend's (long and complicated story) daughter, Ally, would like. I've not met her, they live in the States. Anyway, so am watching that one now. Addicted! I need help!!! LOL

Hi Chloe, i could get addicted to it too so why not try and sell on there? You still get the thrill when the auction is ending but even bigger thrill is making money lol sarah xx

Chloe, before you buy anymore DVDs on Ebay, take a look on Amazon. You can buy new from Amazon or new and used from other people. They are very reliable and I have managed to buy brand new DVDs and CDs still in wrappers, most arrive next day too. M.

Thanks Morfydd (and Sarah). Have used Z shops before, it's good - but I'm still a sucker for e-bay!!

Hi Chloe, be careful. I've bought lots of things on Ebay but no longer. In March I bought something for my son from a new seller, according to Ebay, I had to pay by cheque despite having a Paypal account . Never do this! The goods have never arrived and neither has the promised refund. Ebay were absolutely hopeless and quoted time limits etc which meant they wouldn't help - the time was taken by the fake seller, not me. I have lost £90 and it looks as if I won't see it again and Ebay aren't the slightest bit interested.

Helen Have you asked your bank if they can claw back your £90. Even though a cheque has 'cleared' it is possible to reverse the payment, if your bank is willing. It is worth asking. dave

Thanks Vikki, might give the alternative site a try. I am not happy at putting my visa card details on a site though, perhaps a post-dated cq could be used - with the proviso that, if goods don't arrive, it will be 'stopped'? Lily

Annie Be careful ! I no longer take Paypal on my eBay sales. Earlier this year I sold an item for £25. Received payment via Papal. Buyer emailed me saying how pleased she was with the item. A few weeks later the money was taken from my Paypal account. She had told them I had not sent her the item. As I only had a certificate of posting and had not sent the item recorded delivery there was nothing I could do to prevent her reclaiming the £25 back from Paypal, even though I sent them a copy of her email. Never again. I may pay her a visit if I ever go to Goole. dave

Dave Have you still got your receipt did you get it as proof of posting ( the postcode of addressee on it ). You should be able to put a claim in to the post office I am almost sure that the standard proof of posting covers up to £28.00 I know we bought something it didn't arrive but our seller sorted it out off just his nomal proof of posting and sent us our money back. I have bought and sold lots of stuff ( not big amounts involved) and only had a couple of hicups always sorted out. Love ebay but am careful and always read sellers feedback if in doubt. Germaine x

Having seen the cases above, they amount to fraud, and you could report them to the police, as you both seem to have evidence. After all if they have done this to you, they may have done the same to others. Val
