We have a good crop of cucumbers on ours but they are in a greenhouse. Should imagine if yours are outside it will be a while. are the in the garden or greenhouse or conservatory? Where do you live? Ann Glos |

Had my first cucumber today from my greenhouse. They will grow ok outside if it's fairly warm, are they F1 hybreds? if not you will need to pick off the female flowers or the fruits could be bitter. best if you can train them up a support to get good long and straight fruits. They will taste better than any bought ones, water them twice a day and enjoy. David |

Sorry David it's the male flowersyou need to pinch out ,the female flower is the one you get the fruit from.As you say though ,if it is a hybrid ,this should'nt need to be done. once the flowers start they must be kept well watered ,and should be fed once a wee to insure proper growth of the cucumber,Happy munching.Fred.PtfT&A&G&G&S.k |
