Just been phoned by driving school and it seems I start lessons next week! Dad arranged it secretly. I'm in no real hurry to start learning but, ok, I'll give it a go :-)

Yeah that's what he says. He told me that at work there's a Doctor who's in his 40's and has to get lifts. (not from a lowly nurse like my dad of course :-) I think it was classed as a Birthday present but I think he wants me out as soon as possible. First he hands me the estate agent pages and now this :-)

Daniel If you really are 17 as you said on another thread, then it's the very best time to start driving lessons. Good luck, hope you pass first time (not many men do - LOL!) Lynne

Daniel I do wish I'd learnt, when I was young. My 3 took lessons fairly young and all are driving. Such a bonus especially when it means you have easier access to out-of- the-way places, thus broadening the area for employment. I'm sure you'll do well.

Thanks for the good wishes. Yes I'm really 17. My 129 year old father isn't booking me lessons :-) Dad spoke and asked if I wanted a male or female instructor. I said it didn't matter so I've got a woman. Now I think of it, it would have been safer to ask for a male. (wouldn't it Lynne? :-)

My younger daughter booked her first lesson on her 17th birthday, (September) and passed her test in the following January. My mother in law started lessons when she was in her 50's and took the test at least 21 times before passing. So I guess it is advisable to start young. D

Not all boys take ages to pass their tests! My daughter didn't pass 'til her 3rd test. This spring my 17 yr old son passed his test 1st time with just one minor and he was ecstatic, particularly to beat his sister!!! Enjoy the lessons.
