I use to play this instrument when I was younger, I had a green one. Spoke to my son's music teacher the other day and asked if the children where taught to play this instrument, as I feel wind and keyboard are good to learn, and she looked at me like I had flipped, and then asked what is it! errrrr! Kim

There's definitely one in this house somewhere! It had different coloured notes and the music sheet that came with it showed these colours, -for easy tune playing.

There was a famous Jamaican called Horace Swaby better known to the Reggae World as Augustus Pablo, he was a keyboard player (piano and organ) his sister lent him her melodica and he played his first melodica tune on a record called 'Java' the year was late 1971, the sound it made became known as the Eastern Sound it was great with the Dub sounds of Reggae. He will be remembered for one of the greatest Reggae Albums ever made 'King Tubby Meets The Rockers Uptown' Augustus Pablo (Rockers was his Company and Record Shop) and King Tubby (The Engineer). A few others have played it in Reggae Music including the late Peter Tosh (better known as a member of Bob Marley Wailers) but its Pablo who will always be remembered for bringing the child's musical instrument to the Reggae World so successfully. i had a green one but most of my friends had a grey one. i pestered mum and dad for one so they bought me one with their embassy no6 couchers lol
