Mallorca, over 100 degrees in the sun. A stupid STUPID woman has left her dog in her car outside our apartment in the sun. Granted it was a softtop but I think that probably makes it ten times worse. It had been barking for ages and, while it was annoying me no end, it is just the norm out here. I only started to worry when the dog started making a terrible wailing noise. I went onto the balcony to see what was wrong and two passers by and a man from a nearby bar were UNTYING it from the back seat and giving it water. Poor thing was trying to jump out of the window onto the main road. While they were doing this the owner came back asking what they were doing in her car so they gave her a right earful. I hope someone locks her in a car. Natalia |

Girls, the noise the poor poor thing was making was horrendous. I am so glad those people got to it - if I had gone down I think a good slap would have been administered to the woman. Natalia x |

This is so bad!! My husband, who is a security guard, found a Pyrean mountain dog, dead in a car at the top car park in St Ives 2 years ago! He had to smash the window of the car to get to the dog, but unfortuantely it was too late!! All because the owners wanted to go to the beach and we have a no dogs on beach policy!! Please people, leave your animals at home in hot weather, it is so much better for them! Maz x |

Oh my God, Maz, that is awful. Why do they take their pets with them I am sure they would be no bother in the house for a few hours. A bowl of water, some food and a garden with a shady area is all they need. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHH it makes me angry. Natalia xx |

Some folk have no idea, they think animals don't feel the heat like humans. that poor dog. you are right , a good slap would have been in order. Shirley Ann. |

Hi dog lovers! I just happened to go to a Dogs Trust Home today (well, made a detour of about 10 miles on the way to Sainsburys actually). Please if you have space in your house and hearts, go to your local dogs home. It was so sad to see all these beautiful dogs hopefully wagging their tails at you. (I am seeing a pup next Monday and thought Id go to the dogs home and buy some bits for him rather than give the money to a dog supermarket). There was such a lovely 9 year old terrier, full of life but a card said he was special needs. Basically he is a bit blind and deaf but that wouldnt be a big problem for anyone really. I am very tempted to go back and get him as the staff said they expected him to be there a very long time. There was also a little 12 year old who looked so sad. Please, if you are thinking about a dog, do go and check out a dogs home. |

That's awful :(( Our little pup isn't ready to be left home alone yet so we make sure that there's always someone with him while we go to the supermarket! We would never, ever dream of leaving the little chap in a hot car. Mandy x |

my border/beardie collie cross is 18, a bit arthritic, but has his medicine (more than I do), he has his walk of about 1/2hr every day and then sleeps most of the time. We love him to bits - he understands everything we say - and dont say. I dont know how we will cope when heis not with us brenda |

People like that make me so angry. Last week we went to a local beach, along with my parents and their dog. We went to the part of the beach where dogs are allowed, and Tessa absolutely loves going into the water. She was jumping the waves with me, and swimming, having a super time. It's such a shame that some dog owners treat their dogs as an incovenience. Natalia, I have the RSPCA tel. number on my mobile just in case we see anything like you saw. People can't say they didn't know - there's enough advertising etc about it! x |
