Hi As far as I know you should get 26 weeks paid, this probably wont be all at full pay, councils and banks etc usually give more than the standard maternity pay. You can however take upto a year off. Liz

Thanks Louise, I've worked there for over 4 years now so should get the best of what they offer. How long is it on full pay?

depends how long u have worked for them i was with our council for 15 month when i found out i was having a baby i had 6months of (think it might be 12 now)on pay then cause i was bad did not go back untill another 6months we also had a bounse but if you left work within 4months (i think) u had to pay it back also if they can do it you can ask for better hours to suit u when u go back. and u can have time of for check ups

Hi, I'd like to have a baby next year and I work for Notts County Council. Haven't a clue how long I'll get off and how my pay is affected. I dont want to ask my boss and the pack I applied for hasnt come yet. Has anyone any idea? Thanks, Laura xxxxxxxx
