I ended up in hospital in America on hol, it was clean, but they handed me a phone and said if I wanted food or drink to use it, also gave me toothpaste and brush as I went in off street as emergency, and cos we had no credit card lay looking at toothpaste and wondered how much they would charge me for it. We were insured but worried we may need to pay up front, so I just lay there wanting coffee. It was ok bill was sent on our return, $7000. But it was clean! |

Funny thing was the Dr stood at the bottom of my bed and asked was I an organ donor.......I said yes, and he rubbed his hands and looked really happy. After he went my hubby who by this time looked worse than me said ' I wish you hadnt told him that, he looked really pleased', thought they intended selling my bits, who would want them? But they were lovely to me, apart from that. But they even charged for a half asprin, and two inhalers (which I never got by the way), being Scots we noticed that!!!! |

I was listening to a talk by Dr Hillary Jones and was saying how years ago nurses had to change out of their uniform to go home wasnt allowed to wear make up or jewellery and their hair put away and constantly washing their hands yet things have changed and germs are constantly being brought into hospitals my daughter had meningitis twice as a baby and cant fault any of the staff at West Dorset Hospital every time before they came in would put on plastic aprons gloves and mouth masks if needed scrubbed their hands before coming in the issolation room and again before leaving and I to had to scrub before and after leaving hopefully still the same now there Kaz |
