My poor husband cannot get a decent night's sleep with my snoring, how can I stop it, the only solution is him sleeping in the other room at the moment. Please help.

Try sleeping on your front instead of your back. Janice

tried that Janice, but it seems like no matter which side I sleep on, I'm off.

I'm a light sleeper, and until we moved to this house, where I can sleep in a different room from my husband, on the opposite side of the house, I found it very difficult for many yeras to get an unbroken night's sleep due to his incredibly loud snoring. He still snores here, of course, but thank heavens I don't hear it. I think it's due to him being a smoker for many years, but he refuses to give it up. I dread going on holiday and having to share a room with him. Our son also complains about it, but he's a heavy sleeper, so it doesn't affect him so much. There are various methods of dealing with snoring - your GP should be able to advise, but my husband prides himself on never 'being ill', so he won't go and get advice about snoring. CB >|<

Alcohol can make snoring worse!! lol!! I do know someone who swears by that stop-snore stuff you can buy in chemists though. I'd give it a go if you haven't already, may be worth a try!! :0) Joan (seasoned snorer herself!)

My hubby has snored for years and finally went to see the doc about it. They recommended a small operation at the back of his throat (he told people that I'd made him have his throat cut!), which was very painful. It worked for about a year, but now his snoring is nearly as bad as before. At least he works shifts now, which means that both of us get some sleep. My only consolation is that he now tells me that I snore! Maggy

maggy, dont think I fancy getting my throat cut, especially if it hurts as well. Your husband was brave to have it done, if it was guaranted for a lifetime, might think about it, but for a year, not worth it!

Apparently, I do sometimes. I'm told it's when I've had lots of shift changes and I'm restless. Getting their own back now telling me I snore instead of me telling them they do Can't hear it myself so have no idea LOL Jan x

Hi Lady Godiva, don't think that he would recommend it. He also started with thyroid problems not long after and guess what he blamed it on? Yes, having his throat cut! Maggy

Both my partner and I snore and seem to take alternative weekly shifts lol - so it's a good job we have a spare room:) I did actually go to the dr about it and she suggested a tennis ball or cotton reel tied to my back to stop me sleeping on it but I kept taking it off when half asleep as it was so uncomfy! And I think I snore on all sides anyway:)
