Heather and Gwynne - That's the one. Thanks for all the replies.

That one seems right by looking at it. I'll just try and find a file to confirm it :-)

Is it - For Those in Peril on the Sea (William Whiting) Eternal Father, strong to save Whose arm hath bound the restless wave. Who bidd'st the mighty ocean deep Its own appointed limits keep Oh hear us when we cry to thee For those in peril on the sea. O Christ! Whose voice the waters heard And hushed their raging at Thy word Who walked'st on the foaming deep And calm amidst its rage didst sleep. Oh hear us when we cry to thee For those in peril on the sea. Most Holy Spirit! Who didst brood Upon the chaos dark and rude, And bid its angry tumult cease And give, for wild confusion, peace Oh hear us when we cry to thee For those in peril on the sea. O Trinity of love and power Our brethren shield in danger's hour From rock and tempest, fire and foe Protect them wheresoe'er they go. Thus evermore shall rise to Thee Glad hymns of praise from land and sea. note: Written in 1860 after the Reverend William Whiting came through a fierce storm. This is the official hymn of the Naval Academy (US): the first verse closes every service. Gwynne

No I don't know any words and it's not either of those. It's a popular one I've heard it before but looking for the name. If anyone has a copy and would like to check the 4 hours of it I'd appreciate it :-)

Is it this one? Hymn for Survivors of the Titanic. By HALL CAINE; The Great English Novelist. [To Tune of 'God Our Help in Ages Past.'] Lord of the everlasting hills, God of the boundless sea, Help us through all the shocks of fate To keep our trust in Thee. When nature's unrelenting arm Sweeps us like withes away, Maker of man, be Thou our strength And our eternal stay. When blind, insensate, heartless force Puts out our passing breath, Make us to see Thy guiding light In darkness and in death. Beneath the roll of soundless waves Our best and bravest lie; Give us to feel their spirits live Immortal in the sky. We are Thy children, frail and small, Formed of the lowly sod, Comfort our bruised and bleeding souls, Father and Lord and God. Ahh, no. Jacqui is right.

I've looked and looked and still can't find it out. Does anyone know the name of the hymn from the film Titanic. Not the music bits which google is showing, but the one when they're at the mass. I think it's only on it for about 5 seconds but it's a well known one.
