I had this prob once, ended up with black eye, think your pain now will be result of the root filling. I was given antioitcs to be on the safe side that did the trick Hope you are soon out of pain and enjoy your holiday. Germaine x |

Thank you everyone. Feeling a bit better with the pain killers, had to move the angle of my monitor tho, as all I can see is cheek! lol. Lisa She only xrayed it 2 weeks ago and there was nothing there, must be a bit run down or something. Kim x (who is having mashed potatos tonight!) :-)) |

Oh Kim! Bags of sympathy! You sounded fine when we last spoke, so it's come back again! I know how you feel - I had exactly the same problem years ago. I can still remember how bad it felt. Make sure you take all your antibiotics and stay off anything sugary, which will only make it worse. Hope you're better very soon. CB >|< XX |

Hi Kim, know how you feel. I'd stand on my head if I knew it would help relieve the pain(it doesn't - I've tried). Hope you're feeling better. |

Well I was right! Woke up this morning looking like the 'Elephant Man'!! Just got back from dentist, 3 day course of Metronidazole (so not a drop of alcohol will be able to pass my lips) and 5 days of Amoxicillin. Got to go back on Monday. Thanks for last night you lot, appreciated it. Kim x |

Deb, Sick of anibiotics, done the 3 day really high dose, topped up with a 10 day course of amoxcillin, twice now! no effect both times and it's reacurred. Thanks everyone going to try and get some sleep now. Taken co-dydramol? and if that doesn' t knock me out in 20 mins nothing will! Will keep you updated Kim |

You poor thing. I know what you are going through. I had an abcess on the root that went into the bone...I swear to God just as painful as labour. You need a good dose of antibitics to clear the infection before they can do anything. My dentist gave me morphine for the pain!! Good luck with the appointment tomorow. Deb PS Try oil of cloves or cloves themselves on the affected area, |

When I was younger and teething my mum used Ouzo on my swollen gums... Maybe down a bottle and that'll help? |

Hi Kim, Have had root canal treatment done before but it never seems to last. I've got to the stage that if they mention it I just tell them to take it out as it's easier. Ian |
