I forgot about my other half. When he was a child his parents were interviewed by Social Services, as they thought he was being abused because he had broken so many bones. It's still going on ... three years ago he was supposed to be looking after me as I'd just had an op and he fell over and broke his ankle on both sides and ripped all the tendons! It was the leg he's had a DVT in a few years earlier and it swelled up so much that they couldn't put him in plaster for two weeks! Then last year he fell down the stairs and broke a rib. Don't you just love him?!?! Jan

Broken Ribs due to a car accident many years ago when I was a student nurse. Ended up being looked after by my colleagues at the hospital I was training in. At least I got a visit from Matron every day (but only because they were short staffed and I was needed back at work). Lol. Love and Peace Marianne.xxxx

Oh Bridget - I know what you mean about your teeth coming through your chin, just below your lips. This happened to me twice when I was little - still got the scars to prove it! Jan

I am nearly 40 and never broken any bones (yet)

My wrist was kindly broken, just at the base of the thumb joint, but my wonderful ex-fiance. Hence the Ex. Jan

Len dont think that counts - fingers & thumb go to 5 per hand. Just remember the old adage 'The peen is mightier than the sword'.

Just remembered. Smashed my left thumb with a hammer when doing DIY. My small daughter said 'daddy, why are you laughing?' (it went off pop with blood all over) and I recall saying 'because it doesn't hurt yet. dear'. len

hi lisa, while working in the scrap trade in glasgow i was injured, i was hit on the head by a bale of aluminium(no comments please lol) it caused a blood clot so big i had to have two holes bored in my head to let the pressure out, made a full recovery, although the wife says it did not knock any sense into me, more taken some out lol

Skull. fell out of a hammock strung between two tree - over cobblestones. Nose. Twice. First time boxing, second time being too close to net when tennis opponent volleyed the ball and I tried to return it with my nose. Leg. Came off motorbike. Also nearly lost my willy - does that count? len

I guess A&E staff are used to all manner of explanations about broken bones, but hubby did feel rather foolish telling them that diving for 4th base, in his works charity rounders match caused his broken leg.

Lisa - Yes I have. I dont see that you have added anything - is there some devious thrill you are getting from reading about all these unfortunates - or have you got something to top them all ? or you are a surgeon ! Joe.

inspite of clumsieness, i havent broken anything, kids have both had broken wrists, daughter got hers broken after shed backed son into a corner shouting at him , he kicked her with his footy boots on, shes had probs with it eversince, son broke his playing footy, fell on it, the same week beckham broke his metertarsal

Just remembered, eldest daughter also had a fractured jaw when knocked off her bike by some idiot down the road. The sight of her beautiful face in A&E was awful but the registrar was one hell of a needlewoman and did a brilliant job of patching her up. She missed the school trip to Barcelona which went the next day and had to eat through a straw for a month. Daisy

Two fingers of my right hand when a sash cord broke and the top sash on our window fell and trapped them - 'Oh dear' I said! LOL Magsxx

Thankfully I have never broken anything (touch wood), had a close call when I was about 8 - I fell off a horse and it ran back over me and stood on my leg! A friend of mine broke his Heal about a year ago - was flying a huge kite and did a bit of a Mary Poppins on a stepped bank, as he came back down he landed on his heal - ouch! Kaye x

Radius and ulna broken as a result of a fall when iceskating. The sad thing is I had my daughter with me and I had taken her round and round, picking her up or catching her before she went down and hadn't fallen once. I wanted to call it a day because I could feel the blisters forming but daughter begged for just one more lap and then .....CRACKKKK. And 10yr old daughter saying 'Get up, mother. You're showing us up'. There's nowt like sympathy, and that was nowt like sympathy. Boo Hoo, Beth :)

Number one child snapped his femur at the hip after being run over. Hence my complete intolerance of idiots who finding speeding macho.

I've broken my big toe 3 times (once when my mum drove over my foot!). Hubby's broken his fingers a few times. Eldest daughter - fractured skull at 8 weeks old. Daddy dropped her! Funny now, but in all honesty the most traumatic time of my whole life as we nearly lost her. She also broke her ankle playing netball last year and had to have a major operation on it. Since when of course she's been taking it easy, sky diving, abseiling, white water rafting etc! lol Son - broke collar bone playing 'bundle' on the school field. Guess who was at the bottom of the bundle? He refused to go to the hospital saying it was nothing and when we eventually got him there it was broken in 2 places. He had a Spanish GCSE written exam the next morning too! Youngest daughter - broke wrist bouncing on the sitting room cushions being Tigger aged 3. I only realised it was broken when she fainted as I was rubbing it better. They know us very well in A&E!! Daisy
