I learnt on a Ford 105E Anglia and a week before the test BMS changed it for a Cortina, so I took the test in our own Anglia. During my father's test he was following a bus and a man fell off the platform. Dad did a perfect emergency stop but the tester wasn't ready for it and nearly brained himself on the windscreen. Lol.

And I'd just given him a good luck charm! Hope he's thrown it away! Bec - he's not getting near my new car (over 25s only). Nell and Jess - he's 17 and took his first test last month. Failed on something negligible but he is a good driver so I hope he succeeds this time. So does his Dad as that will cut down on the 'unpaid taxi service'! lol Thanks for all the positive vibes - keep them coming please! Daisy

Not sure how old he is or even what he is like. but.... Some young lads. especially those that learn to drive as soon as they can at 17 get a little , shall we say, overconfident, in their driving? Maybe a different car, one with which he is not quite so familiar may help him to pause for a millisecond before he acts, which could be the attitude that the tester wants to see. As it happens I did the every same thing ( took test in a car i had never driven before in similar circumstances) and i PASSED first time, and boy, was I proud!! He will be fine.... Waiting to hear the good news GOOD LUCK TOM Jess x

My son has his driving test in 45 minutes. His instructor turned up 15 minutes ago and his car has just conked out before Tom even got in it! Tom will now be taking his test in my old car so could you all send him some extra positive wishes please? Thanks. Daisy
