I am just so surprise that your doctor has not suggested an exclusion diet- it is usually the first line of attack and causes no harm. If you are in pain most of the time and take pain killers they will surely mask the pain anyway?

just eating healthily, this week am doing a food diary to see if anything sets it off, then i will cut it out of my diet hopefully if it is IBS this will sort it

seems unsual that Dr will admit you to hospital with suspected bowel problems , and not have pelvic area examinations.... I wonder what they were looking at? What sort of ward was it that you were in BB? Gynae, medical, surgical... You say your Dr is treating you for IBS - He isn't...he is giving you pain killers to mask pain, IBS is 99% managed by diet (and only you can manage that) Who is the other appointment with ? Jess x

oh meercat - I know - the advise I was given - let them do the top end first lol in case they use the same probe lol uncomfortable but well worth it to be given the all clear from really nasty stuff - what I have I can live with - literally! so I consider myself very very lucky. In the so called league tables of hospital performances for this type of procedure my area has the worse record in the UK - but they did their stuff - and quickly from being referred by the GP to the actual procedures was only a few weeks

im confused too...lol they have given me so many different things it could be,my doc is treating me for IBS in case it is that. the doc at hospital has said its not a gyne problem, but a surgical problem. they have done an ultrasound scan of my abdo, not my pelvic area. Have had an x-ray too

Baby

Baby Report 5 Aug 2005 14:42

sorry, what i meant by upper abdo was everything but the pelvic region,i didnt know how to explain it

The Bag Report 5 Aug 2005 14:41

Baby

Baby Report 5 Aug 2005 14:40

Baby Report 5 Aug 2005 14:37

i dunno whats going on,they seem to miss stuff tho,the woman in the bed next to me said they missed a large cyst on her ovary, but my local hospital is one of the worst in the region! i was in hospital for stomach pains,my doc said it was ibs

Unknown Report 5 Aug 2005 14:36

Have they scheduled a colonoscopy??? biopsies? luckily mine were all clear of nasties but the Dr did say - oh its ok you only have severe IBS lol - Did you have a pelvic scan? cos that would have shown any lesions or cysts etc and there are blood tests which can confirm the cysts

Baby

Baby Report 5 Aug 2005 14:26

Baby

Baby Report 5 Aug 2005 14:24

they havent actually diagnosed it yet,im just fed up of it all its just an opinion at the mo,but im going to keep watching my diet incase it is that

The Bag

The Bag Report 5 Aug 2005 14:21

But if it isn't IBS then all a little pointless.... I think the advice you were given was based on the fact that you said you had been diagnosed with IBS. seems you haven't after all Jess
