have been to see the gynecologist(sp) at the hospital today for an appointment and he has decided it doesnt sound like a gyne prob or IBS!!its getting to me getting a different diagnosis every time i see a doc. He says it sounds like scar tissue, from where i had my appendix out has attached itself to my bowel and everytime i move its pulling. All i want is an answer!:(

Baby Report 5 Aug 2005 13:51

yep, have been keeping a diet, but nothing seems to be 'setting it off' someone did suggest cutting out milk and milk products tho

Milk is usually a Major factor in IBS - I read a book which said that before you diagnose IBS or similar that you should try cutting out Milk/Dairy products as it is more likely to be a Lactose Intolerance. I find that Milk upsets my IBS big style and also cereal - I stopped eating a bowel of cereal for breakfast (have a piece of toast instead now) and that did more to ease the IBS than any pills. You can still eat Yoghurt by the way and bio yoghurt will also help the IBS, as will anything that contains Pro-Biotics. Kaye x

Oh dear - a 'bowel' of cereal! pmsl I won't bother changing it - it's good for a laugh! It was meant to say a 'bowl' of cereal - must have bowels on the brain lol Thanks for pointing that out though. Kaye ;-)

But if it isn't IBS then all a little pointless.... I think the advice you were given was based on the fact that you said you had been diagnosed with IBS. seems you haven't after all Jess

Baby Report 5 Aug 2005 14:24

they havent actually diagnosed it yet,im just fed up of it all its just an opinion at the mo,but im going to keep watching my diet incase it is that

Have they scheduled a colonoscopy??? biopsies? luckily mine were all clear of nasties but the Dr did say - oh its ok you only have severe IBS lol - Did you have a pelvic scan? cos that would have shown any lesions or cysts etc and there are blood tests which can confirm the cysts

Baby

Baby Report 5 Aug 2005 14:37

i dunno whats going on,they seem to miss stuff tho,the woman in the bed next to me said they missed a large cyst on her ovary, but my local hospital is one of the worst in the region! i was in hospital for stomach pains,my doc said it was ibs

Baby

Baby Report 5 Aug 2005 14:40

The Bag

The Bag Report 5 Aug 2005 14:41

Ibs is ...erm....lower down than your upper abdo though isn't it... what was that all about -

susie manterfield(high wycombe)

susie manterfield(high wycombe) Report 5 Aug 2005 14:42

but surely the bowel is the lower abdomen? susie

Baby

Baby Report 5 Aug 2005 14:42

sorry, what i meant by upper abdo was everything but the pelvic region,i didnt know how to explain it

Baby

Baby Report 5 Aug 2005 14:59

im confused too...lol they have given me so many different things it could be,my doc is treating me for IBS in case it is that. the doc at hospital has said its not a gyne problem, but a surgical problem. they have done an ultrasound scan of my abdo, not my pelvic area. Have had an x-ray too
