Well I did keep my appointment with the consultant today and although I didn't get an apology, he did admit that he had got it wrong. What he thought was cancer was just inflamed tissue. Got an appointment for 4 weeks time, so at least he is keeping an eye on me. Thanks for all your advice and support yesterday.

Hi Maggy sorry to hear you've had this scare but glad it turned out to be good news. My Mum went through a similar thing recently but fortunately hers turned out to be a 'wrong diagnosis' too :-))))))

Yes Kay, I really hope that he has learned something from it. You are right, I will be able to get my life back on track now, thank God. Everything has been put on hold for the last few weeks. Jeanette, thanks, and give your mum a big hug from me, I know exactly how it feels! Going to open that bottle of wine now, I think I deserve it. Cheers.........

You have my sympathy, I understand what it's like. While my mum was in hospital having a mastectomy for breast cancer, my dad was undergoing investigation on his prostate. The consultant who examined him told him he had cancer and that he would send him for a biopsy to get a better idea of how to proceed. Biopsy came back clear. He was referred back to his GP for some pills to reduce his prostate and dropped like a hot stone. There wasn't even apology for the stress they had caused at an already difficult time. It can be hard to count your blessings when you're still reeling from the idea that you have cancer... it's very confusing and at the back of your mind it niggles that maybe they made a mistake when they did the biopsy. It's good that they're keeping an eye on you and that he admitted his mistake, maybe he'll be more careful next time with how he words things.
