Off to hospital today to have wrist replastered and xrays on jaw. Had his stiches redressed yesterday and he asked to see his face, lots more tears (he has also taken all the skin of his chin so is very red and raw). Had a better night last night so on the up ... Lisa xx

right of way or not too fast or not i would never walk away from an injured child what ever the circumstances. Lisa

where was the pedestrian? It is a hard thing to say but he was possibly going too fast and really , the pedestrian probably had right of way if they were on the path or the verge. I am sorry he is hurt though jess

He was riding on the grass alongside the pavement but when he came of went over the handlebars and landed face first on the pavement. Yes he was very lucky not to have ended up on the road and it could have been much, much worse.(had a few tears myself today) I will probarbly get a speeding ticket in the next few days as i didn't spare the horses on the way to hospital. Liam has just gone up to comp last week and is really enjoying it but he will be off for at least a few weeks whilst he recovers, he is also right handed and thats the wrist he has broken. He is being very brave and i'm very proud of him. Thanks for all your good wishes when he is a bit better i will show him. Lisa xx

Oh what a shame the poor thing! A very simular thing happen last year to my ten year old, she was riding down our street and a car driver who had parked up just swung the car door open and my daughter swerved to miss it and ended up in a right old state, cut to peices, the young woman or should I say Moron who opened her car door without looking first was more concerned that my daughter had got blood on her top which cost £30 as my daughter ran to her ,arms outstretched in a panic!, so I kindly reminded her that she was lucky it was my daughter and not another car as she would have lost the door of her car which would have been more than thirty quid if another vehicle had hit it. People like that make me so angry, I really do hope your young one gets better quickly. Marie

HI Hope he's OK? Just asking was he on the pavement or roadside? Lucky if on pavemnt and no cars about goodness knows how much more worse this could have been. But there again this 'cow' could have kids and thought 'They're always coming off the bikes nowt wrong he'll be alright'. Like was said earlier how uncaring though. Wendy

OUCH!! hope your son is ok Lisa.i doesn't surprise me that no one asked if he was ok,my mums work collegue was knocked of his bike by a van,the van didn't stop nor did the cars following and the cyclist behind just rode around him, sad state of affairs isn't it Karen

My 11 year old son fell off his bike yesterday whilst tring to avoid a pedestrian, result broken wrist, 5 stitches in his chin, swollen jaw, no skin left on collar bone, bruised and cut shoulders, huge bruise on left knee and twisted ankle. I would just like to say to the lady who carried on walking without checking to see if he was ok THANKS. Lisa xx
