Dear Lemon you are such a sweet, caring girl. I have to say that judging by the speed and alacrity that Mike of The West handed Hatpin the Hedgehog over to your good care, he felt he was going to a good home. It is very easy to put up a charming website but the day to day looking after of Hatpin falls upon you, and I am sure Mike is relieved, not to say delighted. It is a bit like Howard offering to adopt you three girls, and then edging back when it looked like you were being difficult. Whereas I, on the other hand, have always been around for you:-) .XX BC

Thanks for being a consistant nudger Meeeeeercat, knew a Meercat would be a handy person to know. I shall read limerick. Mummykins, I think Mike will leave him with me, but just had to be extra sure as I did kinda pinch hatpin, though the night I set off to look for him in my fluffy cat slippers and brown anorak, was wet and wild. Also Mike may get fed up wiping up his puddles, and regurgitating his worms xx

I like you on this thread Meercat but your limerick proved you called Hatpin a brat!

Puffing and panting to get back here to answer dear Lemon's message, hang about for a minute. OK all that's been said by the interested, curious but strangely lovable group of people above is true, and to be honest -- especially BC's observations. The daily pressure involved in trying to look after Hatpin did become a strain and I'm grateful that dear Lemon appeared in his life when she did. When you really need someone they will appear and thus it was. I'm sorry I was too late for Meercat to see this reply, but thank you Meercat anyway for nudging so beautifully, and in such a dedicated way during Lemon's enforced absence.
