Hi Val Here's another one .... my son born at 32 weeks weighing 3lbs 14oz. Now 6'2' and 16 stone (yep, built like a rugby player!) and has his 17th birthday next month. I know how worried you must be, because I can remember my parents telling me all about their nightmare afterwards! But we're all sending positive thoughts and hope that all goes well. Love Mandy :) xx

Morning Val. I hope everything is going OK. My David was born over 7 weeks early in 1971 and then things were so much diferent I didn't see him till he was a week old. He was born in one hospital and they had a ambulance stood by took with an incubater in, to take him straight off to prem baby unit. He is a fine strapping lad now and we had very few problems (except for being a crier). Things have improoved so much nowadays. Hope baby decides to stay snug in Mummy's tummy for a few more weeks. Germaine x

Don't worry too much Val I am sure things will go ok, these things happen often, you may think oh its easy to say but my daughter was premature and I had many false alarms from 30 weeks on. Things turned out ok in the end and she was just under 5 weeks premature and all went well. Love to you and all the very best to your D.I.L and her baby. Pat x

Thanks for your messages of support, and telling me a baby born now could be ok. Have just heard that they intend giving her a steroid injection to try stopping the contractions, and that she is not dilated at all. There are no special care baby beds available, so hospital is ringing round trying to find one incase of need. Val

Val Take a look at this NHS direct web site. http://www.nhsdirect*nhs*uk/interactivetools/pregnancy/default*asp?weekno=31 Remove * replace with a dot It says baby could weigh 3 lb 5 oz & lungs are virtually fully formed. Please try not to worry. It is premature, but not too premature. I hope everything goes ok. Joan xx

D-I-L was sent home from hospital friday, still having pains, these got more intense again by Saturday afternoon, so went into hospital for a check, nothing happening so was told she could either stay in hospital or go home, she chose to go home. Last night they eased off and she got a good nights sleep, and so far this morning she remains pain free. Lets hope it continues that way. Val
