*JESS* You have absolutely NOTHING to apologize for. We have all tried to help with this poster ... you, Tracy, Heather, Rosemary, Alto ... to name just a few........ Take a pat on the back and don't go back. You and everyone else concerned should be WELL PROUD. If ANY one sends you a PM ..I WANT TO KNOW ABOUT IT JESS. I won't stand back and watch one person being 'got at' when you have only said what we ALL think. Elaine :-) ps. I copy and pasted :-) AFTER Alto ! |

Jess, Which thread ???? (I'm nosey) For what it's worth, I agree with what CB said (although wouldn't have said it so well).I wouldn't have said you were harsh at all, I did think perhaps a little blunt, but then thats one of my traits too, so I'm not going to criticise !! Paul |

Jess, you were a saint with him, together with DD. Flippin' heck, the amount of information that everybody gave him - SEVERAL TIMES - and he STILL deleted the info?!! even though you advised him not to. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think all of you got the thanks you deserved. x |

Jess, You done the right thing, nobody wants time wasters, which is how he came across to me, (from what i just read), basicly he sounds like a pissant. If people can't be bothered to save the info they get, then they must expect a retort. Well done. Micheal. |

I read Richards threads & got more & more uptight with him, altho I didnt feel it was up to me to comment. I began to feel he was either ' having' everyone on,or was so dim he thought Genes was his personal researcher. I think you deserved a medal for being so patient with him. I did post just once on one of his threads telling him he really did need to start buying certs. I think he wanted everyone to do his tree for him at no cost to himself.or am I just being cynical Shirley |

Jess The crunch of Richard's cheek for me, was when he asked if anyone would purchase the certificates he needed, Yes I know he had some kind of learning difficulty, however I thought 'if he was cheeky enough to ask this' then maybe he wasnt as daft as he was making out. He is a very intelligent guy, his spelling and grammer was of very high standard too, I do suspect Richard played on his difficulties at times and I also believe he is used to having all his own way! You can only do so much Jess, as you once said yourself 'you can lead the horse to water but you cant make it drink'. (No disrespect intended to anyone who as or knows anyone with learning disabilities). Lib:)) |

It was given to our understanding that Richard was autistic. in posting the 'begging' request to buy certificates for him, anyone with an undertsanding of autism would have realised - he would have no idea that what he was doing was 'socially unnacceptable ' . This was pointed out to him nicely, he appologised and quickly removed the request. However, he was not lacking in intelligence. he wanted to trace his tree and a few of us tried really REALLY hard to help him. Time and time again we pointed out that he needed to write things down and make notes - which he didnt do. it is my expectation that by early next week Richard will be back with us - i am almost sure i havn't hurt HIS feelings becasuse he doesn't 'do ' feelings like the rest of us non sufffers do Jess x |

Jess You and the others tried your very best for him - I don't understand why he seemed reluctant to ask his parents, helpers, relatives or friends to help him with it. I know he said his parents were busy but surely there was someone near him who could have helped him? I can understand you being upset - I think he was genuine and just couldn't quite grasp it. His parents were busy? What, all the time? Not trying to sound sarcastic by saying that, but surely his parents could give him some time on a regular basis. x |

Hi Jess When I read the thread on records the other day I couldn't believe how much you and DD had helped this lad - much admiration. I don't know about Richard but I just wondered whether he had some sort of learning difficulties! or just clueless! Don't worry it had to be said. Cheers Kaz |
