When we got married in the 1970s, we were given a set of Splayds - forks with rounded sides, like a spoon's. They're very good for food you don't need to cut, like risotto or paella or pasta dishes. CB >|<

Sorry Dee for hijacking your thread! Lil - My boyfriend at the time (now my hubby - met back up with him 18 years later) used to wear a two toned suit LOL! Debby

Tony The hankie was how I worked out that Debbie was 2nd generation. You had to have a real hankie with the pin and a 'feather-cut' hair style. My hair is still suffering, when it gets to a certain length it has a kink just where it was feathered (lol). Also two tone trousers/skirts/dresses and loafers. God did we think we looked the bees knees.

You're making me feel young now! Yes I was 2nd generation but really enjoyed it. Gawd it's really brought it all back - must dig that music out! Debby

Little Lil - no - I just pulled the green silk lining out! Tony - I'm talking from 1975 to about 1982 - I liked the clothes so much. Then I went all New Romantic - yuk! Debby

Debbie Did you have a real hankie in your crombie pocket or a fake one.

I read all those books and wanted to be a suedehead but I was sort of a boot girl! Did you ever see anyone dressed as a Clockwork Orange - I thought that was sooooo cool and I can only have been about 12 - bit worrying now when I look back. Debby

Tony I've got some Doc Martens! And I've been wondering about having the hair cut again but think I'm a bit old! Would still wear a Crombie though! Jen I bet I'd enjoy that. Debby

Jess That sounds more useful than a spork. Trouble with the spork was that the food had to be 'bite size' as it was useless to try to cut anything with it Dee xx

The things we got for a wedding present were called Splades (sort of a spoon/fork hybrid).

Hi Dee and all Sounds like the thing you get at KFC, when you order the gravy (makes the 'chips' more palatable). A spoon with short prongs? xx Jen (prefer Wimpy but they seem to be disappearing fast)

Rosi, Debby and Yvonne I will have to take a rain check with my son on fashions, my memories are of hot pants, bell bottom trousers, mini skirts and a rather nice PVC coat I had in the 60's Dee ;-))
