Glenys the Menace! Report 10 Oct 2005 18:40

Paul, re your thread no, nobody could ever accuse you of being rude. Mind you, it seems that your crime has been to use your common sense! lol As for this woman who accused you of being rude - I think she'd better take a look at herself, lol. x

No Paul it's not just you. I've had the same person ask me at least six times if he can view my tree. Each time I've asked why and once we even exchanged a little information but none of it was relevant and yet he persists. It's actually beginning to drive me mad now and I wish I could block contact from this person. Daisy

I've had lots of interest in my tree, but most haven't been links - have made 7 or 8 solid contacts though

I have a copper too - found my grandfathers 'long lost' brother as a Constable in the Met in 1901. Who knows what happened to him afterwards though. My gradfather would never talk about him, so my dad thought something had happened, suicide etc, but now it appears to have been jealousy - they both went to London to try to join the Met, my grandfather failed because he was too short (half an inch !!) and got a job on the railyway instead, wheeras his brother was successful.

No Paul, it's not just you. One person has pmd me twice asking to see my tree & just ignored me when I ask why. Another asked if I had a certain person in my tree & I said no sorry, then when I found, after some time, a possible link he has just ignored me. As they say where the ancestor in question is from, nowt so queer as folk. Vivienne
