We have Thomas,Ethan,Simon in this generation and Jerome,Ashley,Justin ,Jason and Steven in their parents generation. Not only does a name have to go well with a surname, but you need to think about future nicknames a youngster might get at school. For instance,my husband wanted to call one of our many sons Damian, long before the film, and I said No ,because if he is the least bit bookish at school he will be 'the oldDame' He got called Justin instead and when we were staying in Scotland with my husband's aunt and she asked wha name we had chosen, which a that time was 'Jason' she said 'You can call him Jason, that's me horse!
