Gwyn in Kent Report 14 Oct 2005 07:16

O.H. ( ex Army) will happily iron himself a shirt or anything else and do it well. I never press trousers. I conveniently pressed in a few 'tram lines' in the early days of our marriage so never was asked to do that task anymore. If your partner's standards aren't the same as yours, confine their ironing to just their clothes. They'll be wearing them.

When I broke my leg he had to learn. Sad to say he is better at it than I am because he is more meticulous. He still does a bit now. Gwynne

Laurie Report 14 Oct 2005 00:13

I'm one of the clever ones who married an (ex) service man - very rarely do any of his ironing because I can't do it as well as him (lol - if he only knew)! When he is on a roll he does mine too - and he is the shoe cleaner in the house too! I am a lot spoilt, and I know it! cheers Laurie

Rugby Report 13 Oct 2005 22:26

Hubby irons his own shirts. He doesn't trust me. I buy non or nearly non-iron uniforms and assume paint, glue or gravy will be spilt down them within minutes of entering the school gates. I iron party frocks for the girls, but that's as far as it goes. If I ironed, where would I find time for geneaology?
