When your in its grip Its like running through treacle, you never seem to get free, you can't see the light at the end of the tunnel. Hopefully i can now see the light but even now most days are a fight - a fight to keep the tears at bay, to put on a 'normal' front, to get up & go to work. But i am determined not to let it win, but, unfortunatly its not that easy to overcome & i still have days where i know i need to move out of bed/off the settee/ out of the house but i just can't. I'm not and never have been a lazy person but its hard to explain but i'm sure there are many that know what i mean. Robbie has all my respect as its a very hard illness to come to terms with let alone to try & talk about. Anybody in its grip has my sympathy & understanding. Tracey -x- |

I am lucky pinksaharatracy, I have never been depressed, only sad - it must be really awful to be that down. It has made me think, how many people do you meet in a day who smile, and there is pain there. |

I think I'm like you Sally - I've been down, been sad, but never had true depression (although I was told I had 'reactive depression' at one point). I don;t think that those of us who don't suffer, can truly understand it. |

Thanks Sally You smile but the smile never reaches your eyes & your heart feels like its crying even when you laugh - sorry thats the only way i can describe it. I just want to get back to 'normal' if there is such a thing. The change in the season isn't a help - i've gone from a pretty 'possitive' outlook to crying again in just a couple of weeks. Annoyed with myself really - but i WILL get there! (eventually!) lol You have my sympathy & i hope that doesn't sound condesending - its not meant to be. Tracey -x- |

Thanks for your kind words, my sadness will go with time, and I can, and will be able to deal with this. Depression on the other hand, needs outside help, and a lot of help from supporting friends - I hope you all who are in pain at the moment have help from friends and family. I feel for you. x |

I hate being told 'when you get back to normal' it makes me cringe now as I know I will be on tablets for months. BUT My question is... What is normal?? |
