I thought they were all going to be non-smoking tents ? The one I'm in certainly will be !

Well done Daisy. I should think the teenagers really appreciate what you are doing. They are now old enough to understand what an adventure you are taking on for an excellent cause. Jean x.

Well done, Daisy! I hope they didn't all offer to go on the Trek with you - that non-smoking tent would get a bit full! Hope next week is a better one for you. CB >|< X

Thanks ladies. I'm so glad I did it. Have spoken briefly to large audiences at PTA events etc but this was a bit different. Several of the pupils are dealing with this in their families right now and I was very nervous of upsetting them in an environment where they can usually leave it behind for a few hours. They were really pleased that I'd come in though. Julie go for it, especially if they're paying you too! Daisy

Well done Daisy. Fantastic. When my husband did a talk at the Local History Society recently (and they gave me the cheque for CRUK), one of the ladies came up to me and asked if I would attend one of their Laidies Fellowship meetings next year and tell them about my trip to the Sahara (and they would pay me!). OMG have never done anything like that before - don't know if I even could!! I'm a 'behind the scenes' sort of person really..... Anyway well done you!! Jxx

Just had to visit my local school and tell over 200 Year 11 pupils all about the Sahara Trek and the Pink Fund!!! As they left most nodded at me, some even spoke to me and a few said 'Respect'. Feel pretty good now after a pretty grim week. Daisy
