I will get cat called for this, but when I was a policeman, there were seven of us all taking lessons at the same time. Six of us took the test wearing uniform, one didn,t , and yes, you,ve guessed the end result. (This was way way back when everything was much more parochial) Happy days |

2nd time on a motor cycle. 1st time in the car, although I don't know why. I made loads of mistakes and even got some of the question answers wrong. The examiner said 'You mean.....?' to which I of course answered 'Yes!' My wife says her mother took her test at least 21 times, trying different centres, Herene Bay, Canterbury. Chatham, Maidstone, Gravesend. She passed eventually, although perhaps she shouldn't have as she had numerous accidents. D |

Hate to sound big-headed, but I passed first time. Did everything wrong the lesson before the test, 3 point turn turned into a 5 point turn, turn right instead of going straight on. However, it took my sister 4 attempts to pass hers, so you keep going. |

Corrina, I passed second time in my own car, much easier when you know the car. I agree with Trish, don't tell them when your test is. You would be surprised at the number of men that don't drive, I give a guy a lift home from the LDS church, he used to walk until we discovered we lived on the same estate. Don't let them bully you, it is harder to learn now, there are more cars on the road, I passed 22 years ago and would hate not to be able to drive. Good luck Ros |

I was exactly the same as Louise Caddick who replied earlier. I failed first time at the age of 18 and didn't bother again until I was 29. Had a different instructor (a woman) and after about half a dozen+ lessons passed at my next attempt. I was obviously more mature by then and certainly more philosophical so must have relaxed better during the test. Keep going and ignore the put-downs. I'm sure you'll do it next time. Good luck |

I've never passed. (This might have something to do with never having taken a test!!) |

Corrina, I think you are very good, the fact that you didn't pass doesn't mean you can't drive all it means is that you had a bad moment, there are a lot on the roads that shouldn't be, so I for one will wish you all the very best for next month, me I suffered from nerves and passed 2nd time, my son who is my driver when I am haveing a bad day didn't pass until his 4th time, again due to nerves, some others passed 1st time and I wonder how on earth they did it the way they drive, so stick your nose up in the air at any one who tells you your stupid, your not. Corrina Second time for me. Knew I'd failed my first test when I rolled back on a hill, thought I'd stalled the car, tried frantically to start the ignition when the examiner said 'I think you'll find the engine is running' - I was so embarrassed. I was much calmer on my second test - good luck! Debby |

Hi, Corrina. Don't you worry! Like someone else said earlier, it doesn't mean you can't drive because you didn't pass this time. Just put it down to experience and have another go! My Hubby passed 3rd time round and i was chuffed to bit's when i passed 2nd time. Then Hubby went on to say 'well, they do say all the best drivers pass 3rd time!' I'll give you three guesses who pranged our brand new car earlier on this year...? One clue...It wasn't me!!! lol (and he's been driving for 30 years!) Well done for passing your theory test!!! I'm glad they didn't do that when i passed my test! My step son talked me into having a go of his mock test on the pc....and i failed! But then so did Hubby.....lol Good Luck for next time luvvy! Yes, car and bike. Unusually, I took the car one two or three years before the bike. I recon I've done about 700,000 miles since. Normally 400 miles per week on the bike and 50 to 100 in a car. |

took nearly sixty lessons before my instructor would putme in for test. Said i was tooooo cautious, which was just sa dangerous as to confident, wasnt doing what other road users would expect me to do which was dangerous, plus used my horn too much!!!. Finally put in for test & passed first time. Hubby used to ride motor bike & sidecar before he learnt to drive a car(had many holidays on that bike). He took car test five times before passing on the fifth time. However since passing our tests ,hes got more driving experience than me & I think is a better driver. I still get OFF days when driving doesnt gel, altho I am a good driver . Shirley |
