For resort towns you can't beat Tenby. Aberdovey is quieter but still counts as a resort and is lovely. I won't mention my total favourite because it's very peaceful and quiet and we want to keep it that way! Gwynne

I'd go with Gwynne's choices and add Pendine Sands (Carmarthenshire) and Bosherston cove (Pembrokeshire), both on the South Wales coast.

Filey (East Coast, Yorkshire). It's a lovely Edwardian resort, still unspoilt.

Scarborough, Whitby, St Ives, Newquay, Porthmadoc, Sheringham, lynton and Lynmouth, Minehead, Clovelly, Weymouth and Isle of Wight.
